R. Kent Hughes, in the introductory thoughts of the book, writes, "We will never get anywhere in life without discipline, be it in the arts, business, athletics, or academics. This is doubly so in spiritual matters." Shortly after that, Hughes makes a true statement, "The Church in America needs real men, and we are the men!"
